Maddy

Out of School Manager & Nursery Nurse

My name is Maddy, I hold a level 3 diploma in Childcare Learning and
Development, and a level 3 diploma in Playwork.

I have worked for Sadie and Franks since 2019, prior to which I worked in the NHS for 6 years as an Occupational Therapist. I enjoy working at the nursery, breakfast club and after school clubs.

I love taking the children outdoors to explore our garden or go and visit the neighbouring sheep and cows. It brings me joy to facilitate child led play as this is where children experience deep learning, and their imaginations never cease to amaze and surprise me!

Barbara

Nursery Nurse

My name is Barbara. I have over 30 years experience in the childcare sector. My qualifications include: NNEB, Playworker level 3, Paedriatric first aid, Safeguarding and Food hygiene.

I’m bubbly, outgoing and love to make every day fun in nursery. My favourite activities are imaginative child led play, outdoors, storytelling and of course singing and dancing!

I’m at my happiest when strolling along the beach at Ogmore or with a good book and a cup of tea!

Kia

Nursery Nurse

My name is Kia and I have over 3 years experience with a range of ages from 4 months to 10 years. I have completed my CCPLD level 2 and 3. I also have food hygiene, first aid, safeguarding and prevent duty.

I enjoy being around all ages of children and have a great passion to build their experiences through a range of play.

Shannon

Nursery Nurse

My name is Shannon, I have over 8 years experience as a Nursery Nurse and 2 years experience as a room lead in a previous nursery.
What I enjoy the most is getting the children to learn first-hand experiences when being outdoors, as I completed a Forest schools course.

I speak basic Welsh language during the day and encourage the children to use it to develop their basic Welsh language.

My future ambition is to eventually achieve level 4 in management.

Natasha

Nursery Nurse

My name is Natasha. I have recently graduated from university with a BSc Psychology degree. I hope to progress through the education sector as I am interested in working with children and helping them through their development as they grow.

I am also interested in learning from others around me and taking on board advice that will help me become more experienced in my role.

I am working towards my level 3 CCPLD qualification.

Mia

Nursery Apprentice

My name is Mia. I am currently doing my level 3 apprenticeship.
I am trained in food hygiene, manual handling, child protection, safeguarding, paediatric first aid and have knowledge of the new curriculum.

I enjoy getting messy, making crafts with the children and face painting.

I’m also looking forward to completing my Playworks qualification.

Ellie

Nursery Apprentice

My name is Ellie, I have worked in the play centre next door since May 2021. I have a level 3 extended diploma in Fashion and Costume.

I am currently working towards my level 2 childcare qualification as an apprentice.

I enjoy working with the children and getting creative with the paints!
